Sodium Bichromate

Uses: Colorimetry (copper determination), complexing agent, oxidation inhibitor in ethyl ether; metal finishing; ceramics; textiles

Hazard: Inhalation of dust or mist causes respiratory irritation sometimes resembling asthma; nasal septal perforation may occur.  Ingestion causes vomiting, diarrhea, and (rarely) stomach and kidney complications.  Contact with eyes or skin produces local irritation; repeated skin exposure causes dermatitis.  Strong Oxidizing Agent
