Ion Exchange Resin

Synthetic resins containing active groups (usually sulfonic, carboxylic, phenol, or substitured amino groups) that give the resin the property of combining with or exchanging ions between the resin and a solution.

Uses:  Water softening, milk softening; removal of iron from wine; water purification, ion exchange in metal separation, production of high purity water, catalysis, juice purification, sugar manufacturing, pharmaceuticals
