Cyclohexylamine

Uses: Boiler- water treatment, rubber accelorator, intermidiate in organic synthesis.

Hazard: Flammable, moderate fire risk. This is classified as very toxic — probable oral lethal dose is 50-500 mg/kg or between 1 teaspoon and 1 ounce for a 70 kg (150 lb.) person.  It is considered a nerve poison. This is a weak methemoglobin-forming substance.. CYCLOHEXYLAMINE neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water.  May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides.  Flammable gaseous hydrogen may be generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.
